How it works
This service works on scars or burn marks that has no melanin and is hypopigmented. The procedure is done to help disguise scars by blending a custom colour ink to match your natural skin tone.
In most cases it does not changed the texture of the skin as it is very subtle and lightly done, however, the needle I use has a chance to break up some scar tissue, stimulate blood flow, and prompt your body’s natural healing process to potentially flatten and soften some scars - but it is not guaranteed. The main focus is to camouflage the scars so it blends in with your skin and make it less visible. If you have any surgery scars, scars from stitches, mole removal, deep scratches, self harm scars, knee replacements, burn marks, etc. that makes you feel self conscious, then this paramedical tattoo service can help you feel more confident.
Pricing is determined by the size and number of scars, ranging from $75 for a mini scar to $250 for larger scars, Appointments last between 45 to 60 minutes, and while we cannot numb the area due to a white halo that will show around the area, the pain level is described as a manageable 2 out of 10 and feeling like a slight stinging sensation. Expect the treated area to appear pink or red for up to 10 days, followed by light flaking from days 10 - 14 as it heals. Most clients find that one session is sufficient, but depending on the scar's texture a second or even third session may be required. Sessions are usually done 4 - 6 weeks apart.
Scar Camouflage Requirements:
* Scar tissue has to be completely healed and white before ink can accurately be matched up to your (untanned) skin tone.
* Surgical scars has to be at least 1 year healed and free of red or purple colour.
* The texture of the scar needs to be either flat or slightly raised and textured. Keloids or red hypertrophic scars are not ideal and we won't be able to work over it.
